Saving Timmons Temple

From 2014β€”2018, I helped organize, fundraise and project manage the relocation of the historic 1932 African-American stone masonry landmark Timmons Temple Church of God in Christ, to save it from being demolished for apartment development in Springfield, MO. This handcrafted work of stone is a symbol of strength and cultural, historical and architectural significance. It’s now called Timmons Hall, a public event space sitting safely and beautifully forever in historic Silver Springs Park across the street. The National Trust for Historic Preservation featured our project in Preservation Magazine.
